For many it is too late by the time they have found out how expensive it is to gain access to their vehicle and to have a new key made. If you’ve only got one key it’s much cheaper to get a spare key cut now, rather than waiting until the worst happens - once you’ve lost it hen becomes an 'All Keys Lost' situation and gets understandably more expensive.
